An Adventure with Louisey!

Hi there!

I don't think Ive properly introduced my friend Louise Groom on my blog yet, but she has been one of my best friends for 10 years........woah, I just worked that out just now and it seems its been quite a while haha!

Anyway, me and Louise love going on little adventures, seeing new places and making videos which we put on the good old youtuberino, so these past few days we have been busy doing just that. we were in much need of a new video and so Louise (Being the smarty that she is!) suggested we make an artsy video which we have never really done before. I loved this idea, it was a chance for us to explore the forest and I was intrigued to find out where this field was which Louise had been telling me about.

The first day of shooting our video we both wore some pretty dresses and just did some basic shots of the long grass, some landscape scenery and shots of us looking lost in the forest which was quite fun I must say!

The next day Louise suggested getting up really early and riding out bikes to this pretty place she knew about. Now me being me I'm not the best at getting up at what I call silly'o'clock, but Louise is more than prepared to getting up at this time as she is a photographer and likes to get up early taking photos of the wildlife that is about. It was a challenge i must say, I haven't seen that time of the day in quite a while, however I still got up, got dressed and was there to meet Louise in enough time.

Now getting up was the least of out worries, the bikes on the other hand were another type of challenge. To put this politely, I now think bike seats are the most uncountable things I have ever sat on in my life and by the end of our little trip our little bottoms hurt.....allot!

Other than the challenge of riding the bikes, once we were at our destination it was all worth it, the pretty purple flowers, birds, horses and cows were great to see and we got some great shots of our video.

Now my next challenge is to try and get my computer to download these videos.......wish me luck!

I shall leave a link to mine and Louise's you tube channel for you to have a gander at, and once the video is edited I shall let you all know! :)

Ill see your beautiful face soon! :)

New Hair *and A smidge of Positive thinking

Ola people of the interweb, how are you today?

Me? Well today Emily (Myself) has had a bit of a change, in the form of some pink hair and a hair cut!

I have been trying to grow my hair long you see for quite a while and whilst this was going really well (and I mean the best its ever got!) I eventually decided to pluck up the courage and finally whack in a bit of bright pink in my long blond locks. Now although I personally thought it looked rather cool, I began to realise that none of my clothes really went with the punk pink look I was going for, so today I had most of the pink cut off :( Nevertheless I'm still pretty happy that I did it, its something that Ive always wanted to do and it was quite fun applying it onto my hair, I still have some pink in it, just not as out there as before! Hahaa

I know I said that I wanted to keep Saturdays a fashion girly type of blog post but I just wanted to share this with you. I feel that sometimes in my life I stop myself doing things because I'm scared of what people will say to me, but this week I just went with what I wanted to do and died my hair bright pink, I didn't worry about what other people thought, I just did what I wanted my hair to be like.

And I have to say it felt good having a little crazy moment!

Anyway I would encourage anyone to just go crazy with there hair, after all you can always cut it and it will grow! I feel like dieing your hair, experimenting with fashion is a way for expressing yourself and I felt like in my past I have been only doing things to what I thought others would think instead of what I thought, lets change this is what I'm thinking from now on!

Have a jolly good day!

OPTIMIST

I just came across this beauty on my facebook page and thought id share it with you!

These words cracked me right up, and I feel its so true. You make a mistake, you go backwards but you end up learning from it and you get to move forwards again! I just love it, now instead of worrying about all my mistakes that Ive made i now will think of it as its all apart of the cha-cha in life.

Anyway.....after this really random post, i hope you have a lovely evening!

The BEST days EVERR!

Hello again my friends!

This blog post is about the wonders and magical events that happen in a festival, and if you worried about going to a festival or have never been then hopefully this post will persuade you that its the most amazing and funniest thing you'll be apart of EVERR!

I'm pretty new to the festival scene, Ive always been that kid who would die to go to a festival and watching my cousins go to Glastonbury every year always made me so jealous.. it looked and sounded so amazing and i have been determined ever since to experience the muddy wellys, the rubbish filled fields, the smelly toilets and most importantly the amazingly talented musicians.

Reading 2012

Last year was my first experience at Reading Festival, i went with my friend Zoe and to be quite honest it was a dream. Everything and everyone was so friendly, you would literally just make friends with people you standing next to, its like your one great big family that is only connected through the music. You dance like crazy people, sing like drunk cats and just laugh hysterically. I have always loved music, but I'm one of those annoying people that cant pick a favourite anything! As long as it has a beat or a strum and ill go for it....even if i don't have a clue what it is. I find it so interesting listening to new artists/bands live.. i think that's why i love festivals so much because you can find out this whole new world of music that you've never listened to before.

Last year the best moment for me at the festival was listening to the Foo Fighters...now before i got to reading festival i knew a couple of there most famous songs but have never really gone in depth and researched all there other music....after Reading fest i become a massive fan of the foo fighters, i loved every single song they sang and it was just plain magical...Dave grohl-now the best person ever in my eyes! (The word magical will probably keep popping up in this blog! hehe)

Also one thing i would like to say as well, when you go to these festivals with your friends its the most enjoyable thing ever. Me and my friend Zoe have sooo much fun! Honestly my best memory's from our friendship are the times at Reading festival. Just SO many funny memory's are made when you go there, so its great to go with someone who loves music as much as you do!

READING 2013..........Well this year it was some-thing-else

I Don't think Ive ever had that much fun, We literally danced like a group of monkeys.....but i loved it! You just don't care at a festival..you can dance however you like, wear what ever you like and sing from the freaking rooftops and no-one will judge you...to be honest they will most probably join in with you (from our experience anyway!) Hahaa

This year i tagged along with Zoe Venn, Young Venn (Zoe's younger Brother) and another girl named Emily! This year was AMAZING! So many amazing people i listened to.

Frank Turner=Simply incredible,
Green day=Amazing,
Spector=A Blooming Joyous event,
Eminem+Dido=Great stuff,
Imagine Dragons=Flipping Crazily good!,
Bastille=Glorious,
Foals=SO good!
White Lies=Surprisingly Great!
System of a down=Actually Loved them
Chase and Status=Danced like a crazy lady!
Alex Clare=Super Talented and freaking loved his voice!
Tribes-Loved them!
The Lumineers- They went in the crowd! They were Crazy!
Fall out boy- Sung (again) Like a loud cat!

and last but not least and the main reason why this festival was sooo special was because of us seeing
BIFFY FRICKIN CLYROOO!

You do not understand how much Ive wanted to see them live! I got my friend Zoe into them around like 4 years ago.. and for us now to of seen him live! Mannnnnn i am now complete! :D

I actually just cant explain my excitement for this festival no words are good enough, it was just the most funniest time Ive had in a while and i really needed to just let go which is what we achieved this weekend.
One of the best parts of this year - you see my and my friend Zoe well at this festival we've realised we are pretty geeky/nerdy, we listen to all these like cool, rocky, indie, pop, r'n'b kinda music yet dance like a couple of 80 year old cheesy disco dancers. So yeah that's got to be one of my favourite memory's this year just us really not caring about what we looked like and laughing like fools.

My all time most special moments of this year was definitely Biffy Clyro though! Just hearing the whole crowed sing together and seeing them look so happy at performing for us and for us knowing the words just makes me overfilled with happiness for being in that moment.

So as you can tell Ive just shed all my positive emotions with you about going to a festival...i cant even find a single negative when going to a festival! Sooo please if you ever get the chance to go take it with both hands and don't let go! Hahaa It will be one of the best experiences of your life...trust me!

I will now share you some of the photos i took

Anyway i hope you enjoyed this blog post...i sure did love writing it! As you probably can tell with all my !!!!!! and lettersssssssssss and :D's

Have a jolly good day!

Zoe's Birthday and Go-Ape!

Hello again my friendlings!

So on Saturday 17th August was the first day of my buddy Zoe's Birthday Celebrations, and I have to say I was very excited! Every year since Ive meet Zoe Ive been invited to celebrate her birthday round her house with her family and friends for a BBQ and other cool things like playing Rock Band and this year we got to play with a pool table, (which I was not the best at heheee). Zoe's the last of my friends to turn 20 which is quite scary now.....we're all 20! Ahhhh!

The Venn's BBQ as I call it was great..... music, food, games and a massive tent thing, the perfect combination for a birthday get-together I think! For Zoe's birthday this year I got her the Magic summertime CD, I thought id get this for her as I know she loves a bit of Magic on the radio and we always end up singing to all the great tunes, I think she loved it! It was a blooming fun day :)

The day after, Sunday 18th, we went to go-ape! Go ape is a adventure activity where you jump off trees, swing on ropes and slide on zip wires.....all at like 500000000 feet in the air (maybe a bit of an exaggeration!). We all got there and had to wait quite a while to get started which was quite nerve racking because all I could think about was jumping the first post to the net hahaa!

So by the time we played 40/40-in in the wood and went to get food it was practically time to start the monkey like activities. So first the instructor lady told us how to attach our self's to the trees and then it was time to do it all by our self's I have to say though...once you jumped that first net you kinda got yourself all adrenalined up for the next activity. It honestly was the coolest thing to do for your birthday I think and it really makes you concur your fears, Emily recommends! Hahaa

It really has been a lovely couple of days!

And the next thing i have to look forward to is READING FESTIVAL!!! WOOO!

PS. if your interested I actually love making videos on the you tube! So if you would like to have a look ill leave a video down below! (I make things from stop motions to silly videos of me doing pointless things! hahaaa)

Things are Changing!

Ahhh its an exciting yet scary time at the moment in the Field Gillard household!

Today in the early morning I was awake nervously waiting to hear my brother get up to get ready to hear if he got the correct grades to get into uni. I was probably just as nervous as him but have tried to hide it well over the past few weeks, tried to make him feel as its not a big deal as he is young and has loads of opportunity's to choose from still.

So he got up and shared the great news that he got into Portsmouth uni! WOOO! Happy was an understatement, you could tell that he was relieved that all the stress, studying and late nights paid off and I am unbelievably proud of the kid! To be honest with you, he is the reason why I chose to stay at college and go to uni, he's a smart dude and I wanted to show him that I his big sister will chase for something big also.

So that's it, me and Danny boy shall be parting ways on our own two feet to study in the big world of university. Although I am so excited to make new friends, studying something that I am passionate for and to be living on my own with a bunch of other likewise students.......... I am also freaking out, and somewhat nervous about where ill be returning home and when ill be seeing my family and friends again. A bit dramatic I know.. as its not like I'm never going to see them again hahaa!

Anyway, these couple of weeks have been very eye-opening to me, things are going to change rather fast, and after spending a couple of days with my family I have started to make me realise that somethings are just are not worth worrying about.

I like to think I'm the type of person who supports people and tries to make them feel good about themselves, I I'm not perfect and make mistakes, but recently I feel that sometimes I tend to let people make me feel bad about myself and I tend to take it to heart which is my fault I know because I don't stick up for myself. Being with family really helped me see that time is better spent with people who are nice to you all the time. Its always fun to laugh at each other and I have no problem with laughing at myself, but when there is a line that is crossed it makes you rethink things, and life's way to short to be with people that make you feel bad about yourself. Which is why from now on I'm going to focus my attention on the people that like me for being weird, and strange and laugh about it, not the ones who see being that way as a negative thing.

Whats been most great for me in these couple of weeks has been spending time with my brother. We've both been very busy in our own little lives these past couple of years and I don't think we've really spent that much time together, so it was nice playing a pointless game of catch, taking stupid pictures and playing a game of cards, simple activities but nice. Even though I embarrass him on probably a daily bases and he annoys me by telling me off for being stupid... I'm gonna miss the kid when we go away!

University will be the time of making friends, staying in touch with my friends/family and finding out what I'm good at and what I'm not.......... and I'm so looking forward to this adventure.

Speak soon my flower Potts! :D
